Maria Schwieter: 

Ms. Schwieter is a certified medical interpreter with seven years experience working as an interpreter in hospitals.  She is also the owner and founder of MCA (Medical Communications Ambassadors) which offers a 40 hour medical interpreters course.  Maria has been teaching medical interpreters for four years. 

Ms. Schwieter is also a registered nurse and has 28 years of critical care experience and diabetes education.  Maria also holds a Masters degree in mental health counseling.  She is a member of the Hispanic Leadership Coalition, she is on the board of directors of MATI (Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters) and is the president and founder of NIMIA (Northern Indiana Medical Interpreters Association).
